Coveralls: Light brown heavy canvas duck cotton overalls. The front bib has a canvas rectangle attached with a bronze rivet and a silver square to fit in the buckle with "Carhartt" imprinted on it. The bib has a triangular piece with a flat top that opens on each side for a pocket and four bronze rivets. There are three rivets across the waist hem. There are two gold metal side buttons on each side imprinted with "Carhartt". There is a front side pocket on each side with a rivet at the bottom. The fly has 3 silver metal buttons and a rivet at the bottom. There is a large rectangle reinforcement over each knee. The back has a pocket on each side with a rivet on each top corner. The left back pocket has a loop on the left bottom to the side. The right back pocket has a loop on the left top corner with a rivet on each side. The right pocket has a white label with a tan circle with a white half moon in it and below in red is "Carhartt". There is a narrow rectangle leg pocket on the back left side with one rivet in the right top corner. The right back side has a narrow slanted pocket with one rivet on the right top corner. There is a narrow rectangle leg pocket on the back right side with one rivet on the right top corner. The back suspenders on the bottom are canvas and on the top are woven brown with a silver adjustable bar and a silver buckle. On the inside front waist is a white cotton waistband. On the inside left side is a white label with black "MACHINE WASH,/SEPARATELY, WARM/DO NOT BLEACH,/TUMBLE DRY WARM,/100% COTTON/RN 14806/Made In USA". Condition - The overalls are very stained. There are small holes on the legs. The silver buckles on the suspenders are corroding.
Worn by Kenneth Van Allen. Ken was a lineman for Northern States Power Company for 27 years (1960-1988) when he retired.
